Sweet Potato and Carrot Turkey Pie

I have to say this is probably one of the nicest dishes iv made recently. It may sound a little odd but I would defiantly recommend giving this one a go. It super healthy, full of flavour and so easy to create.

Prep Time: 20 – 30 mins

Cook Time: 20 mins

Portions: 4 People


  • 1 Pack of Turkey Mince
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 Cloves of Garlic
  • 1 Pepper
  • 1-2 Large Handfuls of Mushrooms
  • 1 Courgette
  • 2 Tbsp Tomato Puree
  • 1 Can Tomatoes
  • 3 Sweet Potatoes
  • 3 Large Carrots
  • 50 g Cheese


  1. Start by preheating your oven at 180c/ Gas Mark 4
  2. Now it’s time to make your filling. So first finally dice your onion, crush your garlic. Then cut the rest of the vegetables into small cubes
  3. Now you are prepared take a large sauce pan and put it on a medium heat then add your mince and cook until golden. Now take this out of the pan and put it to one side
  4. Now get your onions and garlic and cook until translucent in the same sauce pan you cooked your mince in. Then add the rest of your vegetables and cook until softened then add the mince back in and add the tomato puree and tin tomatoes and let this simmer for approximately 20 mins. Then season with salt, pepper and herbs of your choice. I like basil but put what you love in
  5. Whiles your filling is simmering peel and chop your sweet potatoes and carrots then boil this until completely cooked, once they are cooked mash with butter and milk until smooth
  6. Now take an oven proof dish and place your turkey mix at the bottom top with with your mash and cheese then bake for about 20 mins until golden brown
  7. Then enjoy !!
